★ .//. PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
This is important to note: Some aspects of Piper's physical appearance change, or shift might be a better term. Her eyes do not stay one color unless her powers are weakened or nerfed completely, in which case they will be whatever color they were last before her powers began to fail. Normally they shift from brown to green to blue and various shades in between. Please note that for character interactions.

As a result of her being one of Aphrodite's daughters she is "constantly beautiful", much to Piper's chagrin. Even covered in mud or cuts and bruises she still radiates beauty. If she cries her eyes out they still return back to a normal state, etc.

    Fourthwalling: Ask first
    Threadhopping: Ask first
Backtagging: Yes, but I'm slower with backtags than current tags.

Offensive subjects: In general I'd rather avoid trigger and controversial topics. That's about it for now. I'll let you know if anything comes up I'm not comfortable with either ooc or ic.

    Flirting: Yes
    Physical Affection: Yes

Relationships: She has a boyfriend but in game I suppose anything is possible with the proper development, though it would be difficult. I'm open to cross-canon ships as long as it's organic. Just ask!

Fighting: Piper's not afraid to fight, and she's not afraid to fight kinda dirty (using whatever is nearby as a weapon if she has to). She tries to avoid this kind of trouble, though, so please ask me first. Also be aware that her weapons (Katoptris and her sword) are made of Celestial Bronze, which means they cannot harm 100% pure blood humans, but are lethal to any supernatural creatures, half-bloods, and anything classified as a monster (anything that isn't a normal animal from Earth)/mythological creature.

Injuring: I have no stomach for serious violence so that isn't something I'm interested in writing out. That said I'm not opposed to Piper actually getting hurt, I just ask that you warn me before hand and know that I don't want to get into detail with it. If your character is prone to sadistic tendencies like torture and inflicting pain on others (or pain/blood/knife kinks) I'm likely not interested, I'm sorry.

Killing: Because death is permanent in Tanagura I'd rather avoid this for the time being.

Telepathy/Mind control: I'd definitely rather have you ask about this first but I'd take it entirely case by case. We'd have to discuss how effective mind/emotion control powers would be on Piper, since she has both experience being on the receiving end and giving end of hypnotic powers herself. Here's a list of mind-powers that after discussion with other players have been determined do not work on her:
    • Compelling (TVD/TO)
Warnings: She has charmspeak, her weapons are deadly to non-humans, she will punch you if you cross a line.
★ .//. INVENTORY
» Supplies:
    • One [1] partial bar of soap
    • One [1] toothbrush
    • One [1] tube of toothpaste
    • One [1] Cards Against Humanity game
    • One [1] map making kit
    • One [1] map making guidebook
    • One [1] bottle of 2-in-1 shampoo
    • One [1] change of clothes
    • One [1] guide to map making
    • One [1] leather bound journal
    • One [1] white chocobo (1.5 months)
    • One [1] clothes line
    • One [1] knapsack
    • Eight [8] clothes pins
    • Four [4] gysahl greens
» Katoptris: A ceremonial dagger once owned by Helen of Troy. The blade served Helen as a looking glass and has a highly polished reflection. With it Piper can see glimpses of the future, visions, though the context of those visions is never given. She basically sees a select moment from a scene in her future, such as when she saw a man in a hat near a road sign who later turned out to be crucial to their quest. The dagger is made of celestial bronze, meaning that it can only harm monsters and demigods, but is incapable of harming humans.

» Horn of Plenty: Cut from the head of the river god, Achelous, this is the twin of the famously pictured Thanksgiving cornucopia. By focusing her will into the horn she can produce food or beverages of any type- depending on not only herself but those around her when the horn is in use. It is used at one point to produce diet Pepsi and has also been shown to produce the typical fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, pies, and even hot hams. She uses it for a picnic in one scene and it even produces a full birthday cake.

» Zethes' Sword: Acquired during her confrontation with Kihone, Zethes, and Calais. There would appear to be nothing truly special about it, but it is presumably made of celestial bronze, meaning it cannot harm normal humans. As of House of Hades Piper is being trained by Hazel in sword fighting using Zethes' sword. Piper is, reasonably, a presumed quick study.

» Salali: A 3 1/2 month old chocobo was entrusted into Piper's care by Serah Farron towards the end of her stay on Ophiuchus. She's set to develop two healing spells as she grows older. Her name means "squirrel" in Cherokee.
★ .//. GREEK DEMIGOD
» Superhuman Reflexes: As children of the gods all demigods are classified as "heroes", and heroes have honed senses and reflexes specially tuned for battle.

» Ancient Greek: This is likely to never come up in game in actual practice, but Piper can read ancient Greek just as well as most people can read their native language.

» Dyslexia: Most demigods suffer from dyslexia as a result of this, but it's sort of implied that Piper isn't terribly hindered by this since she never makes mention of it. Not all demigods suffer from it, just like not ALL demigods struggle with their ADHD to the same degree. It varies from person to person.

» Scent: This isn't a POWER but demigods apparently have a unique smell that attracts monsters.
★ .//. APHRODITE'S DAUGHTER
» Amokinesis: Literally this is power over love, lust, and beauty. As a child of Aphrodite Piper can alter her physical appearance to a small degree (her eyes are seldom the same color, and shift to match the looker's ideal shade, demonstrated when Jason tries to describe her eye color), attract the opposite sex when she walks by (and presumably those who are also attracted to the same sex), and and when combined with her charmspeak she's even able to use it to bring the automaton Festus back online without Leo's help, melting the ice Kihone was using to keep her captive.
    • She can use the power of love to counter some magic (such as Kihone's ice)

    • Piper can attract the opposite sex (or those attracted to the same sex as her own) when she or they walk past

    • Piper can alter her physical appearance such as her eye color, which shift colors between brown, green, and blue.
» Permanent Makeup: Some members of Aphrodite cabin (not Piper as far as I know, I'm including this just in case it turns out later that she learned how, and I'll update accordingly if this changes) are able to create permanent make-up using this skill- make up that cannot simply be wash off and lasts for 1-3 days.

» French: French is the language of love, therefore Piper knows it. Literally, that is the explanation given in the book. DON'T ASK ME.

» Beauty: No matter how ragged, worn down, dirty, or tired Piper looks her beauty shines through. This is used sort of like the Pokemon move "Charm"-- er, I mean... This- when actively used- can cause others to become captivated by her and stop their attack or lower their guard- or both.

» Charmspeak: This is a form of enhanced persuasiveness, or hypnotism unique to children of Aphrodite and those extremely skilled in magic (such as Circe). It relies on the strength, skill, will, and emotions of the user and uses those components to imbue the voice with magic. The "spell" allows the charmspeaker to enforce their will upon another.

Think of it like the "Speechcraft" skill in the Elder Scrolls games, or the "Jedi Mind Trick" from Star Wars. Characters who have had charmspeak used on them successfully (or who resist it with some effort) will often feel however they're supposed to feel for a little while, but they might be a little confused as to WHY. When the charmspeak goes against the target's will "dazed" is a term often used afterwards or sometimes during the process. Weaker characters (normal humans or those with lower intelligence) will not be able to remember WHY they've done whatever Piper told them to do, only that for some reason they did it. She usually makes it a point not to stick around long enough for the fall-out afterwards.
    • This power is negated when surrounded by large amounts of gold (as seen in The Lost Hero, in Midas' mansion).
THIS COLOR denotes charmspeak in active use.

Piper has a history of dealing with types of hypnotism from her world so any powers like that we should talk about too. _HISTORY: Camp Half-Blood Wiki: Piper McLean, Ophiuchus Navigation, Ophiuchus Setting Info, and Ophiuchus Taurus profile

OPHIUCHUS DEVELOPMENT

Ophiuchus was an adult game, a reboot of Zodion. In the setting of Ophiuchus twelve "gods" called upon the help of outsiders from other worlds to supply them with the energy needed to restore the planet of Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus was once the home world of the Twelve's enemy, the Rasalhague, a selfish race who'd mined their own planet dry despite warnings and then proceeded to try to seize other planets to make their own. The Twelve were individuals from neighboring worlds within the same solar system who banded together to flee to safety. With their combined powers they created Zodion, but they were pursued by the Rasalhague relentlessly and eventually had to abandon the world for good. They destroyed the planet as they fled, taking out the main Rasalhague armada along with it. That's where Ophiuchus comes in.

MARCH:
Piper was drawn from her world by the Twelve of Zodion just after seeing off Reyna, Nico, Hedge, and the statue. The Twelve, their natives, and their charges had just landed on the planet a few weeks prior and were barely eking out a living in the ruined remains of a miner settlement. Supplies were limited, there was no wild life to hunt, no water, the planet was dead and in sore need of the Twelve's touch.

Piper arrived in March with the very first batch of new arrivals on Ophiuchus. Being the only one from her world to arrive Piper initially kept to herself a bit, aside from acquainting herself with a couple of guys her age: Peter Rumancek, Houtaro Oreki Stiles Stilinski. There was one big advantage that Piper brought to the table, though, and that was her Horn of Plenty. The natives and the arrivals were surviving on the equivalent of rationed salad and water, but Piper's arrival meant variety and stretching the supplies a bit longer in the first two weeks. She provided food or drink for people who needed it but otherwise she used the horn to trade for supplies. She was careful about how she presented the horn's abilities, trying to ensure that no one would steal it from her by heavily implying to people that the horn relied on her specific energy to be used. Still, she wasn't interested in hoarding it for herself, just making sure that its presence didn't cause any sort of riot or infighting.

Going on the network Piper sent out a mass text asking others to list their experience, suggesting that they pool their skills so that they all knew who could be turned to for what help and to work together to better their situation. It was in this post that she publicly outed herself as someone capable of slaying monsters and the... "community fridge", as Damon Salvatore put it (and also apparently the "human tap" since he later went on to convince her to provide some alcohol for improved moral among the adults). She revealed to Oreki that her mother was Aphrodite, which allowed her special powers. A little over two weeks after her arrival Peter stopped by for his daily trade, offering up a pillow someone had managed to craft together with some sparse supplies. Despite feeling worn down from her worship withdrawal Piper and Peter chatted for a bit, Piper noticing that he had a lot more energy than he had the last time they met up. He explained to her that the "worship" (sex) really did work as the Twelve's followers claimed it would and that the definition was more flexible than they first thought. Piper initially took hope in this news but was quickly brought back down to earth as she realized she'd still be required to involve others in the act in order for it to count. Since both her health and her powers (thus the horn) relied on her getting with the program Peter sat Piper down and the two of them had a "talk". During that talk Piper confessed that she was reluctant to take the step not only because she had her boyfriend (Jason) back home but because she was reluctant to let strangers in that close and too embarrassed and frustrated to ask for help. Eventually this led to Piper somewhat reluctantly asking Peter for his help, which he gave. The two of them talked the whole way through it as he coaxed her into touching and getting used to being touched in return and (last) non-penetrative sex.

By this point they'd managed to gain some herbivores- Urlulu -and people were beginning to hunt them and craft supplies from the kills. One of Piper's friends from home, the current oracle (Rachel Elizabeth Dare) showed up and moved in with Piper. They spent a bit of time getting Rachel up to speed and then did what they could to make their dorm a little more homey since their stay was possibly going to be indefinite.

With that first step taken life started to even out a little bit for Piper. She fell into a routine of helping Oreki look for supplies around the other huts in the settlement, getting visits from people looking to trade hand-made supplies or services for food, and getting to know people over the network. One of the other captives- Caroline Forbes -announced to the network that she intended to host a mingle so that they could break the ice a little and find potential worship partners. Piper agreed with the idea so she contacted Caroline and volunteered to provide the food and drinks. At the mingle she and Damon also had a talk that turned into a disagreement about coercion equaling total consent, in which he unintentionally pissed her off. It would be a stretch to say he softened up towards her after that but he did at least understand her frustration once she explained. This was probably the point where they started to cement some... strange semblance of a friendship, at least enough to the point that later on during their stay they finally broke the ice and became regular worship partners.

Things started getting strange when several individuals in the settlement began drawing extra attention from the natives and their fellow captives. No one made the connection as to why, but Piper and Oreki would figure it out once Taurus came into power in...
April:

The first half of the month was uneventful for Piper. She continued doing her usual routine and began branching a little to explore some of their surroundings. Starting on the twentieth Piper began to notice the natives from Zodion were getting way too friendly, offering her gifts, smelling her hair, flocking around her whenever she wandered into their area of the settlement- it was very creepy.

One day she got sick of it. She was double whammied by some aphrodisiac spiked soap and the beginnings of withdrawal. In an effort to get some peace, quiet, and privacy to take care of herself she fled to the far side of the settlement to hide out, oblivious that Oreki used one of the lower huts for storage. He walked in on her topless and after an awkward initial conversation the two of them crossed the line and had sex, finally pushing Piper past the line she'd been trying so hard not to cross. She was only half mollified by the fact that she and Oreki managed to go into it with clear enough heads to acknowledge that they were just friends helping one another out of necessity. Also that he knew about her conflicting emotions and was willing to stop if the cost was going to be their friendship. Thus the month of April ended with a bang. I am so going to hell.
May:

Unlike April the month of May took off running. Piper continued hiding out with Rachel and Oreki for the first couple of weeks, alternating hiding places. To keep withdrawal at bay Piper took up a partnership with Damon as well once his girlfriend was sent home. Just three days later, the night after the sleepover (explained below) she ended up hooking up with Stiles, too, thanks to some aloe from one of the recently grown plants. They didn't think anything of it when he offered it up in exchange for some food. I mean none of the other plants or animals had that effect before why would aloe?

In between hooking up with Damon and Stiles there was a sleepover. Might as well have been a belated birthday party for both Piper and Peter, really. At the end of April he'd volunteered to teach Piper how to play Cards Against Humanity and thinking "Hey, this would be more fun with more people." they ended up inviting others along too. This turned into a small sleep over party with the two of them, Stiles, Rachel, Oreki, and Peter's friend Issac. Peter's presence- with him also being a Taurus -put Piper's mood a bit over the top into flirtatious territory. With two Tauruses at the party the group had an exceedingly good time- it stayed PG-13, but Piper definitely loosened up over the course of the night. It really helped her feel closer to her fellow teens and let them all see that they could still have a good time despite their shitty circumstances.

Once the "month of the Taurus" came to a close around the 21st Piper was relieved, because damn that was a lot to take in. Too bad June wasn't going to start off much better.
June:

Rachel returned home around the beginning of the month. This majorly sucked, but around the 28th of May there was a field trip to go seek out one of the Twelve that were scattered around the planet. Piper decided to go along because looking at the same dingy miner dormitories and dead landscape was getting really dull, so she set out with the rest to go see what they could find. She spent the first half of the trip there riding with Oreki on a chocobo that he'd borrowed. The two speculated on what they might find but no one was really sure. When they got there Piper was Not Amused to realize they were expected to have MORE sex to wake up the sleeping god, but they had more than enough proof that worship worked and- yep -it was about her time again anyway, so she and a couple of others she was at least comfortable with sort of... went with it in the end.

After they returned one of Piper's acquaintances sent out a plea for help. The Gemini sign was in power this time and he was having a great deal of trouble getting both friends and natives to stay away. Piper volunteered to help him out, having just gone through the same frustration herself. He agreed and she met up with him at his hut and after getting him to swear to secrecy she confessed that she was a demigoddess and child of Aphrodite. She explained how her charmspeak worked and why she'd kept it a secret and not purposely used it for months. She didn't want people questioning whether or not she was controlling them with it all the time, didn't expect non-demigods to be quite as understanding about it. It was the first time since arriving that she used her charmspeak and the first time she'd told anyone about it. She took up camping outside of his hut chasing people away so that he could get some rest, and the two of them became friends for it.

She ended up checking in on Stiles to make sure the guy didn't starve himself or withdraw into a state of depression. The first attempt didn't go so well but eventually he came around. Still, Piper didn't really have much to do during this month after things calmed down. Some new arrivals showed up midway through and Piper found herself trying to play peacekeeper for some crazy mafia boys, forced to use her charmspeak again to convince one of them that- no, he wasn't going to die from blood loss because no, he HADN'T been horrifically injured by his "friend" -weird stuff, lemme tell you. She didn't really stay in touch with either of them after that as there was a little bit of fallout with the person she'd been helping. Unsurprisingly he ended up being wary of her because of her powers and welp, thanks to that she went right back to keeping that a secret from everyone who didn't already know about it.
July:

July was awesome. WE LIKE JULY. For all of her patience Piper finally got her wish, right on time, too. Rachel returned and brought Jason Grace and Leo Valdez along with her. AWESOME. Or it would have been, except it turned out that neither of them were from the same point in time as Piper. In fact Jason didn't even remember saving Hera!

Have you ever had one of those moments where you get some news and at first you're really, really excited, and then the shoe drops and you realize that this is exactly the opposite of what you wanted?

That's about how Piper felt. Sucker punched, ripped off, trolled, like the world's biggest loser. Good gods above, finally she had her boyfriend back and there they were starting back over at square one... for the second time. Making matters even better was the fact that Jason is a Cancer, and- yep! The Cancer sign had just come into power! While Rachel was busy with her reunion with her Ophiuchus buddies Piper got the fun job of explaining how things worked. The two moved in on the other side of the hut and a couple of days later it was time to pick up and head out for the next of the Twelve.

Piper went along mainly in the interest of "protecting" Jason who was still under the effects of the Cancer sign. Unfortunately Jason's arrival was a double edged blade. Piper was glad to see him again but even though he didn't remember them being in a relationship Piper still couldn't bring herself to sleep with anyone else with Jason there. She put it off to the point that she actually began to enter withdrawals by the time they reached their destination. Jason finally asked her what was going on and Piper had to admit that she was getting sick because she hadn't had sex in a few weeks. She was too torn between her feelings and their situation to take a step in either direction but Jason surprised her by offering himself to help her out, feeling protective over her. Before anything else happened Piper felt like he had the right to know that taking this step was a big deal, but even after explaining their relationship back home in his "future" he still expressed that he wanted to help. Really for the most part this made her happy, but it was bittersweet because she knew that it didn't mean they were together (on Ophiuchus) and that they'd have to go on sharing one another with other people anyway, not to mention she'd been hoping he'd be her first when they finally took that step and instead he was her fifth or so NOT. They maintained their friendship afterwards and things slowly began to settle into a routine again once they made it back.
August:

By August Piper had finally accepted life on Ophiuchus, crazy and strange as it was. She asked the Twelve for some supplies for making maps and a journal to keep track of their experiences, then received a chocobo to raise and eventually ride. She had every intention of putting herself to use again now that the settlement had enough game to hunt for food. They'd even had their water supplies restored, an ocean at the base of the cliffs, rivers returning to the land, and an upgrade to their living arrangements. Piper decided it would be a good idea to start making a map since they finally had landmarks and more than one settlement going.
If accepted Piper would arrive in the middle of preparing for a trip out to the "Forgotten Farmlands" to work on her map.

_ABILITIES:
Universal Demigod Traits
• Superhuman Reflexes/Enhanced Senses: As children of the gods all demigods are classified as "heroes", and heroes have honed senses and reflexes specially tuned for battle.

• Ancient Greek: This is likely to never come up in game in actual practice, but Piper can read ancient Greek just as well as most people can read their native language.
Dyslexia: Most demigods suffer from dyslexia as a result of this, but it's sort of implied that Piper isn't terribly hindered by this since she never makes mention of it. Not all demigods suffer from it, just like not ALL demigods struggle with their ADHD to the same degree. It varies from person to person.

• Scent: This isn't a POWER but demigods apparently have a unique smell that attracts monsters.
Child of Aprhodite (Permissions Post will be included on her journal)
• Amokinesis: Literally this is power over love, lust, and beauty.

• Permanent Makeup: Members of Aphrodite cabin are able to craft and use enchanted, permanent makeup. It's just what it says on the tin: makeup that doesn't run, smudge, and can't be washed off with simple soap and water. It lasts for 1-3 days.

• Charmspeak: This is a form of enhanced persuasiveness, or hypnotism unique to children of Aphrodite and those extremely skilled in magic (such as Circe). It relies on the strength, skill, will, and emotions of the user and uses those components to imbue the voice with magic. The "spell" allows the charmspeaker to enforce their will upon another. Piper's charmspeak in particular is said to be quite powerful as she is able to influence powerful demigods, gave an automaton dragon a life of his own, and even coaxed Jason's soul back from the land of the dead when Hera herself said it was impossible (it helped that the doors of death were open, but Piper's skill was in having her voice REACH his soul). I understand that this power can be seen as problematic in game settings, so I have a special permission post set up for it, warn for it appropriately, and will not use it without express permission from all involved parties. What I've suggested in past games (Ophiuchus included, and Rekindled) is that her charmspeak powers simply don't work on NPC's. Since Tanagura is made up of so many different types of NPC's, however, if a blanket ruling doesn't work for you I'd love to sort out with you to sort out just who it would and wouldn't effect? Low level NPC's versus council memebers, for instance. Or perhaps just handle it case by case. Please just let me know!

Anyway, think of it like the "Speechcraft" skill in the Elder Scrolls games, or the "Jedi Mind Trick" from Star Wars. Characters who have had charmspeak used on them successfully (or who manage to resist it with some effort) will often feel however Piper's charmspeak dictates that they're supposed to feel for a little while, but they might be a little confused as to WHY. When the charmspeak goes against the target's will "dazed" is a term often used afterwards or sometimes during the process. When she's using it in tandem with the target's wishes/beliefs/desires, however, they don't notice anything is amiss at all and only feel empowered in whatever it is they're seeking to accomplish. Weaker characters (normal humans or those with lower intelligence) will not be able to remember WHY they've done whatever Piper told them to do, only that for some reason they did it. She usually makes it a point not to stick around long enough for the fall-out afterwards.

In House of Hades it is learned that charmspeaking works better when the user is working with what the target wants rather than against it, telling them what they want to hear or encouraging/reassuring them about something that they want and already know to be true. The target doesn't have to be holding back from whatever that desire is for this to work but the effect is the same.

This allows her to use it as a stall tactic, powerful reverse psychology, to sway someone over to her side/doing things her way, to fortify and rally her allies, or to acting on their own wishes if they're holding back. When the charmspeak goes WITH the target's will they do not suffer from any feeling of being dazed or confused afterwards.

This power is negated when surrounded by large amounts of gold (as seen in The Lost Hero, in Midas' mansion). THIS COLOR is what I use to denote charmspeak in active use.

• French: French is "the"/a "language of love", therefore Piper knows it... No, seriously, that's the explanation given in the book.

• Beauty: No matter how ragged, worn down, dirty, or tired Piper looks her beauty shines through whether she wants it to or not (usually she does not :P). This is used sort of like the Pokemon move "Charm"-- er, I mean... This- when actively used- can cause others to become captivated by her and stop their attack or lower their guard- or both.

_PERSONALITY: Piper isn’t really at all what you’d expect from a child of Aphrodite. Most children of this goddess are at least somewhat vain and materialistic, flirtatious, and/or focused on their appearances. Piper just… isn’t. She’s very well grounded in the people around her, proving her relation to the goddess in less conventional ways. She strongly believes that Aphrodite is about spreading unconditional love and seeing beauty, not just focusing only on one's looks and being adored by others. Aphrodite also admits at one point that Piper is actually quite a bit smarter than most of her (Aphrodite's) other children.

When she first started off on her journey as a demigoddess she was someone that carried around a lot of doubt and insecurity about her abilities, her usefulness to her friends, and even her intentions. Initially she doesn’t think she’s strong enough to make use of her abilities, or to make the hard decisions, and honestly before setting off on her quest with Jason and Leo she was probably right. She’d never really been around her peers long enough to form solid attachments to them before, but after meeting Leo and Jason (and being given false memories of Jason) she finally has people other than her father that she wants to fight to keep with her. That family grows as she spends more time at Camp Half-Blood and with the others from Camp Jupiter.

The Piper of the past would prefer to fight her own battles all on her own. She dealt with problems as they came, always facing them head on (not always literally, of course) but Piper has her pride and her priorities. There’s a brief glimpse of that when she’s confronted by Drew in the Aphrodite cabin shortly after her arrival at camp. It’s suggested that if she weren’t in such a position that she could easily be compromised (she worried, albeit irrationally, that Drew knew that she was being blackmailed by their enemies) she would have stood up to her then and there. Instead she raced out of the cabin as fast as she possibly could while trying to tell herself it wasn’t her problem and reminding herself that she wasn’t in any position to be criticizing another person. Still, she knew that the way Drew bullied their half-siblings wasn’t right and she WANTED to do something about it. At that time she was simply too afraid of being outed and losing her father.

Throughout the first three books Piper isn't completely confident in her abilities as she's still learning them. The one thing she’s now always sure of is that as long as she has her friends with her they’ll face the challenges together. Piper has grown stronger in solidarity, first with Leo and Jason, then later with the members of CHB, and again with Hazel, Frank, and Percy. She’s stronger when she’s with them or if they’re depending on her, she’s HAD to be numerous times already on the trip.

Honestly, Piper probably doesn’t yet fully realize her own new found personal strength (Even in Mark of Athena she still harbors a fair deal of doubt and fear.), but as she gets older if she were confronted with trials like she’s faced in the past she could certainly handle them with more confidence than she did before.

When she’s with people that she’s comfortable around she’s perfectly comfortable joking, laughing, teasing, making small talk, or talking about the hard stuff. She’ll make up nicknames for people (like “repair boy” and "sparky") once she’s known them long enough. She’s also the kind of person that will stick by you as a friend (or girlfriend) even when you really goof up or make the wrong choices. She might politely (or bluntly) tell you later that you were acting like a jerk, but she’ll also stick around and offer her advice on how to fix things. She won't just leave you in the lurch. That’s probably easier for her since she knows how easy it is to slip and almost make the wrong choice herself. If a discussion between friends is happening in front of her and a friend seems to be in the wrong she’s also the kind of person that might try to jump in and mediate the situation, cool tempers down, or take charge if necessary to make both parties step back and cool their jets. Piper seems to have a natural knack for it. She’s pretty in tune with people’s feelings, though it's not clear how much of this is her charmspeak and how much of it is a latent talent for reading others.

Piper believes in being just and fair. When she returns from her first quest the first order of business is to take over leadership of the Aphrodite cabin. There is no ounce of hesitation once she finds herself in the position to do so. The cabin is said to have become a much more pleasant and positive place after Drew is kicked out of power, that Piper and her half-siblings have a lot more fun now, and Piper has likely become much more comfortable around her own peers as a result. The first thing she did was get rid of Drew's idea of initiation- which dictated that a child of Aphrodite had to make someone fall for them and then break their heart. She is having none of that.

While she’s protective of the people in her life that matter (so much so that when forced to choose between them she expresses that she can’t betray and put her friends lives at risk even if it means saving her father), sometimes it comes out as more of a weakness than as strength. She sometimes doubts if she’s put enough conviction toward her actions or if a selfish urge to keep people close to her has tarnished and sabotaged her efforts. This continues on into Mark of Athena, when she wonders if she tried hard enough to make peace with the Romans or if her insecurity about losing Jason might have caused their failure. Jason is by far Piper's biggest weakness. She usually feels the most threatened or vulnerable when Jason or her relationship with him comes under fire. That's not to say she becomes a weepy, insecure mess, she's too composed to lose her cool, but the emotions are definitely there bubbling under the surface. She goes so far as to tell the rest of the Aphrodite cabin that Jason Grace is hers and he's off limits. In a way this is a playful claim but it's also a sincere one, because once Piper has set her mind on something she's getting it or them, no matter what. The beautiful thing about that is that she goes after it using her own human skills, relying on her demigoddess abilities only when it's for the sake of a quest. She has a fierce honesty streak and an iron clad ethic, especially when you consider how potent her charm speak is. Her skill is even powerful enough to give the gods pause. She could wrap anyone around her finger that she wanted, but she doesn't use this skill (anymore) outside of quests. Once upon a time she would use her charmspeak to get things from people (read on below for an explanation), but with those days behind her Piper definitely seems to prefer earning things on her own.

Her motivation and focus does certainly center around the other people in her life. Specifically- more than almost anything else she craves a better relationship with her father. When she was younger they spent more time together, but once he became famous that time became less and less. As an only child with just the single parent Piper needed him more than someone who also had a mother or perhaps siblings to turn to. Motivating most of her actions is the desire to have her father's attention, time, love, and approval. When she feels that she's not getting enough of it she begins to act as most troubled children do, acting out to get it.

Most kids do so knowingly, but Piper is a bit of a special case. Because of her natural ability to charmspeak others she didn’t really have to try hard to get attention. If she asked for something it was given to her, and later she’d be accused of stealing it. The methods differed but the results were the same as any teenager that might resort to theft to be noticed by their family.

Her father's assistant had more influence in Piper's personal life than her own father. For her it's a very big deal to even have nearly a full minute of conversation on the phone with him. It's stated at the end of The Lost Hero that Piper is finally seeing some improvement in her relationship with her father.

Something else that shaped Piper’s life, her personality in specific, is her heritage because she was mixed race (Cherokee/white). She expresses distaste for the term “half-blood” as a result. Most people don’t tolerate racism to start with, but Piper in particular hates after having to put up with it from some of her peers.

She was given her name by her grandfather Tom in hopes that one day she would master all of the Cherokee songs (also because her father thought she had an impressive set of pipes). It takes the entire first half of her life to really begin living up to this name, though. She's always had the potential, but she more or less tried keeping to herself, not wanting other people's attention. She even goes as far as to chop her hair short with a pair of safety scissors to avoid people noticing how attractive she is. She wants to stay low key. Piper just isn’t the type of girl that has want to be the center of everyone’s attention-- only that of her loved ones’. She doesn’t need to be the center of their attention 24-7 either; just being an acknowledged part of their life is enough.

This reason is never said directly but there's also the fact that her father is a famous movie star and if people realized who she was she would just wind up surrounded by those that would only care about her for who her father is, instead of her. Piper wouldn't be interested in those kinds of friends. Not only could she win people over by playing the famous-parent-card, but she also has her charmspeak ability. It would be easy to let oneself be surrounded with people to listen to her every beck and call but she chooses not to. So despite her occasional self-doubt Piper not only has a good moral character but high standards and a strong sense of respect both for herself and for others.

Overall Piper is a brave individual who hasn't really tapped into all of her inner strengths just yet. She still makes mistakes now and then and she's not always confident in her choices, but she's also gained a lot of confidence over a very short period of time. She's learned that her power is one of the strongest in the world, not conventionally, no, but in subtle ways. Maybe she can't smash a bolder into pieces with her mind, or control the tempest, but love triumphs if the heart is strong enough. It's ancient, older than even that of Zeus', and powerful enough to bring even the mightiest of the gods to their knees.

After Ophiuchus

Here's the information I submitted for Piper's birthday/sign information, as her birth date is mostly headcanon. While Piper's personality remains primarily unchanged she was still shaped up a bit more by her experiences "serving" the Twelve. She has more experience under her belt than she'd like to admit, but she was lucky enough that they were all with good people, or at least people she could see herself calling "friend". She's matured a little more and learned a little about herself in terms of her own survival skills, more than she did on her quest to save Hera. She's picked up a few tricks for surviving in poor conditions, and more than that she's had to learn how to tough it out without the support of her friends, stepping out of her comfort zone.

Piper remains conflicted over being put into sexual situations with anyone other than Jason, always will unless he shows up in person to dump her. She's not some sexual expert, she isn't 100% comfortable in her own skin when it comes to intimacy with others. She's stubborn and she'll push the limits and put her foot down when she really doesn't want to do something, but she's learned that she'll do more than she first thought if it means surviving long enough to make it back home. She's grown up a little more than she was personally ready to but she's come out of it even tougher and more determined than she was before. She's still fiercely loyal, still stubborn, still grateful to be alive and determined to keep it that way. You won't see her running around eating meat or hurting others unless it's self defense. She didn't turn into some savage killer. She didn't break down under her ordeals and she still strives to grow from her experiences and help others. Piper still stands firm in her morals, but if I had to try to come with one or two words to describe how she's changed in her six months on Ophiuchus it might be... grittier, or slightly hardened. She's definitely come out of it a little more, in a "do what you've got to do to survive" kind of way.

If anything it's like she withdrew just a little bit back into her old shell for a while, back to when she was on her own and striving for her dad's attention, or back at the Wilderness School. Her time at camp and on her quests had sort of softened her up at the same time as they toughened her up. Her time on Ophiuchus just plain toughened her up. Life in Midas should be an interesting turn.

_ITEMS:
» Katoptris: A ceremonial dagger once owned by Helen of Troy. The blade served Helen as a looking glass and has a highly polished reflection. With it Piper can see glimpses of the future, visions, though the context of those visions is never given. She basically sees a select moment from a scene in her future, such as when she saw a man in a hat near a road sign who later turned out to be crucial to their quest. The dagger is made of celestial bronze, meaning that it can only harm monsters and demigods, but is incapable of harming humans. Worn in a holster on her left hip.

Worn on a leather strap like a purse or satchel.

Worn in a holster on her right hip.

» Knapsack of Supplies: In her pack of supplies Piper carried her smaller items, including a leather bound journal, some greens for her chocobo, a map-making kit and a guide book for map making (both useless now ha ha), a deck of "Cards Against Humanity", clothes line, clothes pins, an emergency change of clothes, and some basic toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, 2-in-1 shampoo, and soap). The knapsack was scored in a trade with one of the natives.

» Salali ( white chocobo ): A 1 1/2 month old chickobo was entrusted into Piper's care by Serah Farron towards the end of her stay. She's set to develop two healing spells as she grows older, assuming the other inhabitants don't mistake her for chicken dinner, first... Her name means "squirrel" in Cherokee.

WRITING SAMPLES

_GEN SAMPLE: Network thread with Peter and Stiles. Alternatively this is pushing it a bit with the date mark but Piper's first network post.

_SMUT SAMPLE: The hour was getting to be late, well past the acceptable time for lingering. Despite that Piper still found herself not entirely willing to call it a night and in the back of her mind she knew that wasn't quite right but she couldn't be bothered to fathom up the reason why. She decided that she enjoyed having his weight in her arms like this. His arms were wrapped around her middle, playing with the hem of her shirt boldly. It reminded her of someone important to her... How he used to hold her that way. Even the most terrifying ordeals could be made infinitely better by just that simple contact- like that day years ago hovering in the grand canyon. He feels warm, and solid, and real, unlike the memory, and her body is a little too readily all aboard with letting this substitute get close. Still, his hands are definitely warm and solid and real, under her shirt, against her waist, much more confident now than they'd been a half an hour ago when they'd first begun pushing the edges of their limits. Now as her weight is braced half underneath his on the couch she doesn't think twice about letting her hands roam, one down his back, the other working at the button of his pants. Nimble fingers uncomfortably familiar with this song and dance manage the fasten and the zipper as well, and the groan that answers sends a shiver of excitement straight to the slick heat already building between her legs. Hands calloused from years upon years in the hard life of a mongrel provide a beautiful contrast against her smoother skin.

Her heart is pounding, she feels flushed all over, a lazy sort of contentment already settling in with the familiar, warm and intimate pace, even if the man she's with isn't as familiar as the blonde she wishes were here.

It wasn't a fevered rush, for that she's thankful, it wasn't about any sort of instant gratification, it was more mutual comfort. Neither of them could be with the one they wanted but the event of the week had gotten under their skin and nudged the two of them over the line of friendship and beyond. Damn this world's idea of amusement and decorum. But right now as much as they might have otherwise behaved right now neither could deny the fact that they enjoyed touching and being touched by the other. It's going to have to be okay again, if just for tonight.
